In the summer of 2002, David Jay’s new website brought worldwide attention to asexuals: people like himself who do not experience sexual attraction…to anyone. With humor and intelligence, (A)SEXUAL sheds light on the phenomenon and debunks some misconceptions about people who just don’t want to have sex. From hilarious person-on-the-street reactions to commentary by sexperts such as Carol McQueen and Dan Savage, the film addresses everything from relationships and masturbation to common perceptions about asexuality (including the familiar “you just haven’t met the right person”). Finally, is there a place for asexuals in the ever-expanding queer community?
