Strike a pose for this high-energy, modern mix of PARIS IS BURNING and Rent, set in the underground drag ball scene of LA and featuring fierce dance sequences that will leave you floored. When Brad is kicked out of his dysfunctional home for being gay, he must find a way to survive on the mean streets of Los Angeles. By chance, he stumbles into a ball and is transfixed by the ragtag teams of fierce talent and colorful personalities. Taken in by the struggling House of Eminence and its family of outcasts, Brad finally starts to feel like he belongs. But raging hormones create a love triangle that threatens to tear his newfound family apart. Can the House of Eminence leave its conflicts backstage and come together to finally win the coveted house trophy? Or will Brad be forced to continue his search for love, community, and acceptance?
Featuring 11 new songs (from show tunes to techno) and electrifying dance numbers, LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR is the 20-year passion project of award-winning director Sheldon Larry. Supporting him are an exceptional screenplay and lyrics by Glenn Gaylord, an original score by Beyonce's creative director Kim Burse, and eye-popping choreography by Frank Gatson Jr., the wizard behind Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” music video.
