This documentary honors the lives and loves of eight women from New England who have boldly resisted the dictates of society. Through probing interviews, single and coupled women of diverse backgrounds (and their adult children) share their strategies and philosophies as they confront issues of aging unique to LGBT people: what it’s like to come out later in life, finding a welcoming retirement home, and the reality of not being able to rely on financial support from one’s family. The film succeeds at awakening our activist hearts through the voices of women who face aging squarely and honestly and shout, “I’m still alive!”
