THE SCANDALOUS FOUR is a lush, playful costume drama set in the early 1800s. Penelope is a young aristocrat in love with her piano teacher, Richard. Unfortunately, she has no choice but to marry the wealthy Jonathan. It becomes clear, though, that it is a marriage of convenience, as Jonathan has been eyeing the butler, George. In an interesting turn, George hires Richard, not only to tend to the grounds but also Penelope’s personal needs. Within their estate, this foursome breaks down traditional boundaries of love, social class, and decorum, creating a world of honest expression. But it’s not long before their happy world is threatened.
