The summer before college proves to be life-changing for three friends in a South Carolina Baptist community. Tim is recently openly gay and eager for more freedom at film school in New York; Brea is a pastor’s daughter suffering a crisis of faith; and Laura is a devout believer, sometimes unsure how to relate to the others. As sexual tensions erupt and buried feelings emerge, they each must decide if they should hang onto what they have or find something new on their own. Writer-director Stephen Cone sends this captivating young trio through ups and downs with an earnest sense of inspiration, humor, and discovery.
