It’s 1985: the AIDS epidemic is building, and San Francisco is on edge. Men begin to take “the test” not fully understanding what it means. In a modern dance group, fear in the air leaves the dancers uneasy with touching each other, and visible signs of disease fill a body-conscious industry with anxiety. Frankie, an understudy, battles homophobia, being told to “dance like a man,” but a friendship with more masculine, sexually adventurous Todd develops.
